We Offer

IMSPA offers a hands-on, activity-based curriculum designed for the education and developmental growth of each child.

Programs

Education and developmental growth are key priorities at IMSPA. Our programs provide for the active involvement of each child. Children are encouraged to explore and experiment, to develop problem-solving skills, to make decisions, and to think independently.

We seek to achieve these goals through STEAM education.

Ones & Twos

This program is designed to accommodate the development of self-help skills needed for children 12to 24 months. The program provides a well-balanced curriculum that includes: teacher and child-initiated activities, large and small groups, active and quiet times, indoor and outdoor play, fine and gross motor fun, individual and group needs, and structured and unstructured activities.

Children are allowed to choose from activities in various learning centers: art, blocks, dramatic play, math, science, music, and reading. The child’s ability to choose activities fosters a positive outlook toward the learning process.

During this time of constant growth and exploration by toddlers, we encourage a “can do” attitude to promote many self-help skills and develop a healthy self-concept. Washing hands, participating in toy cleanup, clearing their table space after eating, and potty learning are a few of the self-help skills we work on daily.

Threes & Fours

Our Early Pre-K offers a variety of hands-on activities and experiences. Through inquiry-based learning, children ages 36 48 months discover, pretend, test, classify, organize and interact with others.

We acknowledge the importance of a child’s unique and intrinsic sense of wonder. We, therefore, provide a variety of hands-on activities and experiences to encourage exploration, manipulation, problem-solving, and sharing.

We believe in offering choices for children, giving them a sense of empowerment and self-control. This is accomplished by balancing structured and unstructured daily activities, and offering individual, small and large group interactions.

Most importantly, we believe in and respect a child’s right to be a child. We encourage discovery, fun, laughter, and success.

Accredited Private Kindergarten

Our kindergarten class is for children 4 years of age and who turn 5 before or on September 1 of their kindergarten year. The program seeks to facilitate a joyful beginning to lifelong learning. This means encouraging children to be creative and active explorers who are not afraid to think their own thoughts and to try out their ideas.

Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. We are teaching children how to learn, not just for kindergarten, but for a lifetime. We are allowing them to learn through hands-on activities and play as well as in ways that are best for each child.

We help children develop good habits and attitudes, particularly a positive sense of self. This positive sense of self is part of the strong foundation needed to tackle life’s experiences. Our hands-on, inquiry-based curriculum is designed to enhance the creative, emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development of the child.

Our program is Quality Rated. Quality Rated is a tiered quality rating and improvement system used to assess, improve, and communicate the level of quality in early and school‐age care and education programs. Similar to rating systems for other service-related industries like hotels and restaurants, Quality Rated assigns a quality rating to early and school‐age care and education programs that meet a set of defined program standards.

Any program with a star rating participates in Georgia’s Quality Rated program and has agreed to meet standards that exceed the licensing requirements. While any rated program is of higher quality, the stars mean:

One star - Program has demonstrated a commitment to meeting standards that exceed state health and safety requirements, meets several quality benchmarks, and scores sufficiently on the independent observation.

Two stars - Program has demonstrated a commitment to meeting standards that exceed state health and safety requirements, meets many quality benchmarks, and scores well on the independent observation.

Three stars - Program has demonstrated a commitment to meeting standards that exceed state health and safety requirements, meets numerous quality benchmarks, and scores high on the independent observation.

What Is STEAM?

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education incorporates arts and sciences in classroom areas, lessons, and daily routines. It encourages children to think about what they're learning in a more connected, holistic way. Through STEAM, children develop innovation, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, resulting in a well-rounded, multi-faceted child.
